Linda can be hired to be hands-off until the day of the event, at which time she will take control and make sure everything runs smoothly.

Attire.
The bride-to-be has probably been designing her wedding dress since before she met the groom-to-be. He, however, may be inclined to wear his father's old tux from 1974, and thinks that one black sock and one navy-blue sock is "close enough".  Affairs with Linda can direct you to the designers that will give you a wedding dress that you will love and bridesmaids dresses that your bridal party won't hate!  Linda can make recommendations regarding hair and makeup artists that will suit your style and taste. The groom and his groomsmen will not be overlooked. Linda knows just where to send them for perfectly fitted tuxedos and accessories.

Venue.
Affairs with Linda has forged relationships with the finest venues in the city of Chicago, including hotels, museums, and galleries. Linda Alpert knows how to build the space to suit your needs, and every weekend, she works side by side with the management and staff of the best rooms in town. She will let you explore each venue and get to know the people that are responsible for each location before you make your final decision. This guarantees that your wedding or event, with all of it's parties, toasts, and surprises, will go off without a hitch.

Out of Towners.
There will no doubt be some guests traveling great distances to join you on your big day. There may be a need for a couple of rooms at a local hotel, or it may be necessary to reserve entire blocks of rooms.  Linda Alpert can work with the hotel(s) of your choice to get you the best group rates available for your guests.  Linda will help assemble gift bags personalized to their guests' requirements and delivered to each hotel.

Invitations and Calligraphy.
An invitation is the first impression your guests will have of your upcoming affair, and it should reflect the style and design of the event. Linda Alpert has the designers on hand to create invitations that are just as elegant and festive as your wedding. She will ensure that all of the pertinent information, such as time and location is included.

So your guests will know right away that something special has arrived in the mail, each envelope will be addressed by the hand of an exceptional caligrapher.

Transportation.
Will you need one limosine, or twenty?  Would you like to be driven off in a brand new Town Car, or a vintage Rolls Royce? How will everybody, especially out-of-towners get to and from the many events and parties?  These are details that can be confusing and expensive, but Affairs with Linda can cover all of these bases for you and your guests.

Photography and Videography.
Even the most experienced, established photographer or videographer may not be right for your affair. Each has it's own shooting style.  You may be looking for a photographer who can also shoot fast and furious, in a more "photo-journalism" style, catching all of the candid moments, or you may desire a more traditional photographer who will carefully pose each photo.  Linda Alpert will introduce you to the work and style of several different studios, and guide you to the right photographer and videographer that give you the best photographs and video.

You may have a local Rabbi, Minister, or Priest that you have known all of your life, or you may be a recent transplant without such a relationship.   Linda Alpert and Affairs with Linda will find the right person for your ceremony.  Whether you are looking for a very traditional ceremony, or a modern progressive one, Linda will present you with several options, one sure to be perfect for your special day.  A mixed religion wedding may require a little extra work to find the right officiant and chapel, but Linda Alpert can help.

The Reception.
Linda Alpert does not hire her band, her caterer, or her floral designer.  From her cache of experts, she finds Your caterer, Your band, and Your designer.  Linda will make sure everyone is at the right table, and that everything on the table is perfect.  The band that you select will perform music of your taste, not theirs.  With Affairs with Linda planning the event, you can be certain to enjoy the reception along with your guests!

The Food.
Whether sushi or chicken or vegetarian, serving a multi-course meal to a couple of hundred guests is tough!  Many decisions must be made.  Affairs with Linda will work with you to create the perfect menu.  Before committing to the caterer of your choice, you can audition the chef and their various dishes.  Linda, along with the caterers will offer suggestions and recommendations that will help you make the perfect meal.

Tent Weddings and Events.
While Chicago does not have too many warm months, those few make it possible to hold even the most formal wedding or event outside. Linda is known for her ability to stage large, ornate functions outside, under a tent that gives the security of four walls and a ceiling, but still lends that element of fresh air. So, even if the weather does not cooperate with your plans for an outdoor wedding, & Plan B (the tent) becomes necessary, you can be sure that none of the elegance of the day will be sacrificed.

Budgeting.
Even a $500,000 wedding or event needs a budget!  Without an experienced event planner, like Linda Alpert, one who can help you put together an affair within a given budget, the big day may not meet your expectations.  Linda works with each client to determine how best to spend the funds available, and to get the best price on the desired products and services.
